Art is how people express emotions, experiences, beliefs, hopes and dreams. Everyone has a unique view of life; people see, interpret, and express ideas differently. The most remarkable characteristic of art is that it grows with me. As I grow and see new things, my art changes and evolves to encompass my newfound experiences. My art is a self-documenting history of the various stages of my life – who I am, where I’ve lived, what I’ve seen, and all the things that inspire me. To be creative is to paint your reality; what it was, what it is, and what it could be.

So, who is the person behind the art? Makeda has been drawing her entire life. Like most artistic kids, her artistic pursuits began with crayon murals on house walls (sorry, mum). Over the years, these creative horizons have expanded to pencil drawings and paintings in various mediums, including a recent dabble into digital art.
